Who is Gray?

Gray is the 6th character and 1st effect in the Incredibox mod, Incredibox - Sprunki.

Appearance

Gray is a gray Sprunki with three freckles on both cheeks, black eyelids, triangular ears, and ring-shaped pupils that are similar to Wenda's. Their expression is completely neutral. Despite their cat-like appearance, they have been confirmed to actually just be an unknown creature. They also have eyebags, just like OWAKCX.

Personality

Gray is best described as an unhappy Sprunki who rarely smiles, somewhat like Jevin, which is a quite large contrast compared with most Sprunkis. They usually prefer to be alone and distant from others. Previously, they used to be friends with Wenda and a bit of a troublemaker along with her, before they broke their friendship off.

Sound and role on stage

Gray belongs to the effects group. Drag Gray onto one of the seven slots and the loop starts in time with the rest of the mix. Effect characters add texture and accents rather than a lead line, which makes them easy to layer over almost any beat.

Horror version

Gray looks nearly identical to their normal version, apart from being darker, with no outlines except for around their eyes, being replaced with detailed gradients, and having a more scared expression with their ears drooped. They seem to be one of three characters who stays sane and unharmed, the other two being Fun Bot and Jevin. Their pupils are also much thinner. They are frowning, although you have to look closely to see their frown.

Trivia

• Gray appears in the thumbnail, along with Simon and Pinki.
  • In the Repost Portal thumbnail, however, Simon and Pinki do not appear, and Gray is the only one to be seen.
• You can call them "Grey" if your English is primarily British English and/or preferably spells the word as "grey" instead of "gray."
• Wenda and Gray are not related, as confirmed in STC #1.
  • Wenda and Gray have no romantic interest in each other and barely interact with each other.
  • NyankoBfLol even stated that he disliked the fanon relationship of Gray and Wenda, and wouldn't ever make it canon.
  • However, the two used to be friends.
    • It is stated that Gray and Wenda used to be troublemakers together before they broke off their friendship.
• Gray has trust issues.
• Gray feels a sense of relaxation whenever Jevin or Raddy interact with them.
• Gray is not a cat, despite their appearance. It was confirmed by the creator that they're just some sort of unknown creature.
  • Nonetheless, Gray can be depicted as any animal species by the community, as stated by Nyanko.
• Gray, along with Simon, are the two Sprunkis that are confirmed to be the 2 main protagonists.
  • Gray is the protagonist of Horror Mode, while Simon is the protagonist of Normal Mode.
• Gray was the first character Nyanko designed for the mod.
• Gray's ears droop in Horror Mode, signifying distress.
• Gray and Jevin share a few similarities.
  • Gray, along with Jevin, rarely smiles.
  • Gray, along with Fun Bot and Jevin, didn't die, get injured, or become abnormal/infected in Horror Mode.
    • Black forgot to kill them and Jevin and couldn't kill Fun Bot, as it is immortal.
  • Gray is one of the only characters who survived with no injuries in Horror Mode, along with Wenda, Jevin, and Fun Bot.
    • Durple, Simon, & Mr. Sun aren't considered survivors because they are Abnormal.
    • brud and Pinki also survived, however they both acquired injuries of some sort.
    • brud had the left side of his head and the right side of his torso eaten off by Simon.
    • Pinki got her face ripped off by Wenda.
    • Gray and brud are the only Effect survivors in Horror Mode, while Gray is the only effect who didn't die, get injured, OR become infected/abnormal.
    • They and Jevin have a similar-sounding loop in Horror Mode.
  • Gray, along with Vineria, Pinki, and Jevin are the only Sprunki to have eyelids differing from their skin color.
  • They, Tunner, and Jevin are the only sprunki to have eyelids in Horror Mode.

Where to play

Gray is part of the original cast, so you can play Gray in Incredibox Sprunki and in every mod that keeps the 20 originals. The horror-themed phases redraw Gray in their own style: Sprunki Phase 3, Sprunki Phase 4 and Sprunki Phase 5 each have a different take, while Sprunki Retake gives the whole cast a cinematic makeover.
